Meet Your Doula
Hi, I'm Anna!

My name is Anna Petron, and I am a Christian birth doula in Ohio serving families throughout Cincinnati, Dayton, Northern Kentucky, and East Central Indiana.
I’ve been married to my husband since 2019 and have 2 sweet little girls (both home births). I love reading, writing, crocheting, painting, and singing on our church’s worship team.
I am a SAHM, but also work as a midwife’s birth assistant and serve as a board member with the Buckeye Birth Coalition. These roles have given me exposure to parts of birth work that not every doula gets to experience.
My goal is to walk with moms during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum to help them feel confident. I’ll join you in any setting – hospital, birth center, home birth – to provide emotional and physical support throughout the whole birth journey.
Overview of your doula:
- Birth nerd
- ENFJ Myers-Briggs (for any personality test enthusiasts)
- “Quiet” extrovert
- Grew up in Tennessee
- Went to Cedarville University
- Used to be a full-time copywriter, now I write when and where I want
What made me want to be a doula?
My mom had 5 kids and I loved hearing how she avoided unwanted interventions at the hospital and advocated for herself at a time when that wasn’t common. After having two awesome home births of my own, I dove headfirst into birth work and started working closely with local midwives and building my own business.
I want to build real relationships with each of my clients and help each woman look toward birth with peace and confidence.
Why Every Heart?
The name Every Heart Doula comes from a belief that each birth touches more than one life.
It’s not just baby’s heart that we need to focus on—it’s mama’s heart, daddy’s heart, siblings, grandparents, and all those waiting to love this new little one.
God sees and values every heart, and I believe everyone involved deserves care, compassion, and support.

FAQs
What is a birth doula?
Once upon a time, women had a village and were surrounded by other women knowledgeable about birth. Today women have far less community support surrounding birth.
A birth doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support during your childbirth journey. As your doula, I work to build a relationship of trust with you and help you feel confident, calm, and supported.
Do you replace my partner or midwife/OB?
Not at all! I work with your partner and birth team.
I will help your partner learn what he can do to support you, and take all the extra worries off his plate so he can focus on being present for you.
Your midwife or OB are awesome, but typically the medical team is not present the entire time, and may not be able to spend much or any of their time helping you labor since they are focused on other tasks. This is where I step in.
When will you be on call for my birth?
I go on call for you starting at 38 weeks and continuing until your baby arrives. This means I am available 23/7 by phone and will not be out of town.
Prior to 38 weeks, I still plan to be present at your birth! There is just a chance that I could be out of town if I made plans, or it might take me longer to reach you. In this scenario I would call my backup.
When do you call a backup doula?
I will call my backup doula if I am out of town (before the 38 week mark), if I am too ill to attend, if another birth overlaps, or if there is an emergency outside my control.
It is unlikely a backup would be needed, especially since I only take 1-2 births per month. However, I do have a network of likeminded Christian doulas who I will call on to be present for part of or all of your birth if necessary, at no additional cost to you.
How far out is your driving radius?
I provide the best service when I keep my travel radius within about an hour. This means I can serve Cincinnati, Dayton, Northern Kentucky, and East Central Indiana.
If you are outside my travel radius, let’s still talk and work something out!
At what point in pregnancy should I hire a doula?
Most families hire a doula in the 1st or 2nd trimester to allow time to build a strong connection. However, it’s never too early or too late to reach out! Whether you’re just doing family planning and want to figure out your future options, or you’re in month 8 of pregnancy, let’s chat!
What kind of births do you support?
I support almost all types of birth – at home, birth center, hospital; VBACs, unmedicated, medicated, inductions, etc. My only stipulation is that you must have a provider as I do not personally attend planned freebirths.
I lean more on the crunchy side, but if that’s not your vibe, I respect that and your choices!
What does it mean to be a Christian doula?
Birth is one of the most vulnerable (if not THE most vulnerable) times of a woman’s life. In that moment, it is beyond valuable to have people in your corner who you know share your beliefs and values.
As a Christian doula in Southwest Ohio, my faith shapes how I show up for my clients and build lasting relationships with them. I have a deep respect for the sanctity of life and provide Biblical encouragement through prayer, scripture, and faith-based affirmations if desired. I will not do anything that goes against my faith, but will respect your personal beliefs. While I do fall on the crunchy side, I lean away from New Age approaches.
Can I still hire you if I'm not a Christian?
Absolutely! Every heart matters, and I’m happy to walk alongside you regardless of your faith background. Let’s schedule a consult to see if we are a good match for each other!
Let's Chat!
What’s the next step? Let’s schedule a consult to find out if we are a good fit for each other!
These consults are FREE and non-committal. I normally prefer in-person so it’s easier to get to know each other (I love a good coffee shop!), but we can also have a virtual consultation.
